Hello! My name is Wendy and I am a 49 year old wife and mom of one adult son. I live near Grand Junction, CO with my family, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 5 goats, 2 cows and a horde of chickens.
Having been overweight/obese for most of my life, I have tried a succession of diets (Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, low fat/low calorie, etc) that did result in some weight loss but nothing that I was able to maintain long term. The weight always seemed to come back, plus more. After hearing about the Ketogenic “diet“, I started doing research on this way of eating and quickly realized that it was what I had been looking for, for so many years. I jumped right in and haven’t looked back! Keto has helped me shed 85 lbs since April 2017 and I‘m now 20 lbs from my goal weight. Eating Keto has completely eliminated my cravings for high carb/sugary foods and I feel healthier than I have in decades. I was never a fan of exercising but the success I have found with Keto has also motivated me to exercise six days a week. I currently do Pilates once a week, yoga once a week and cardio/weights 4 times a week. This has been a true lifestyle change for me.
As an administrator for the Facebook group Strict Keto for Beginners, I receive private messages every day asking for one on one help and advice. I truly enjoy helping people get the most out of their Keto journey and sharing recommendations based on on how I have been successful, my training as a sports nutritionist and the constant research I do on the Keto WOE.
